Im Rahmen der alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden Ausstellung im öffentlichen Raum von Jamlitz reagiert HORSTSPOT auf das ehemalige soziale Zentrum des Dorfes, den Dorfplatz, der derzeit mit Betonplatten und einem verlassenen Storchennest etwas vernachlässigt wirkt.

Auf dem bestehenden Storchmast werden Äste und Zweige aus den umliegenden Wäldern von Jamlitz gesammelt und zu einem Nest zusammengesetzt. Im Zentrum dieses Nestes befindet sich eine skulpturale Anordnung mehrerer ineinander verschachtelter weißer Flächen, die in alle räumlichen Richtungen zeigen. Die Spitzen der dreieckigen Flächen sind rot gefärbt und verweisen humorvoll auf die Färbung der erwarteten Storchfamilie.

Der Titel HORSTSPOT spielt mit dem Begriff „Hotspot” und ruft das Bild eines lebhaften Treffpunkts hervor, Assoziationen mit drahtlosen Netzwerken, Kommunikation und allgegenwärtigen sozialen Medien. Die antennenartige Erhebung des Mastes und die strahlenförmige Skulptur symbolisieren diese Spannung zwischen lokalem Rückzugsort und globaler Vernetzung. Gleichzeitig knüpft das Storchmotiv an Legenden von Fruchtbarkeit, Familiengründung und Neuanfang an – Konnotationen, die angesichts einer alternden und schrumpfenden Dorfbevölkerung in Jamlitz zusätzliche Bedeutung gewinnen.

Nach dem Ende der Ausstellung und dem Abbau der Skulptur bleibt die Neststruktur als Anreiz und Symbol der Hoffnung für die Ansiedlung einer echten Storchfamilie erhalten. |
