I am delighted to be serving another term on the Art Commission of the State Capital of Dresden and on the Art Commission of the City of Chemnitz, to which I have been newly appointed. My voluntary work on both committees offers opportunities for exchange between the two commissions and the chance to benefit from each other in the future.

CRUMPLE 2 und MINE MAP, eine Gemeinschaftsarbeit mit Lisa Pahlke wurden nach einem Ateliebesuch im November duch die Jury der Kunstsammlung des Sächsischen Landtages für den Ankauf ausgewählt. Die Arbeiten werden ab Anfang kommenden Jahres in den Hallen des Sächsischen Landtages zu sehen sein. |
PURCHASES BY THE ART COLLECTION OF THE
SAXON STATE PARLIAMENT
CRUMPLE 2 and MINE MAP, a joint work with Lisa Pahlke, were selected for purchase by the jury of the Saxon State Parliament Art Collection following a studio visit in November. The works will be on display in the halls of the Saxon State Parliament from the beginning of next year.

MINE MAP greift frühere Arbeiten von Lisa Pahlke auf, bei denen sich ihre illusionistischen räumlichen Tuschezeichnungen auf Papierbögen in den Raum wölben. Diese Form eines gewölbten Blattes Papier wird nun von einer kristallinen, geometrischen Dreiecksstruktur durchdrungen. Im Zusammenspiel wirken beide Formen nicht nur wie eine Mindmap, die den gemeinsamen Schaffensprozess reflektieret, sondern auch wie eine Bergwerkskarte, die Gesteinsstrukturen und kristalline Bergadern darstellt. |
MINE MAP takes up earlier works by Lisa Pahlke, in which her illusionistic spatial ink drawings on sheets of paper curve into the room. This form of a curved sheet of paper is now permeated by a crystalline, geometric triangular structure. In their interplay, the two forms not only look like a mind map reflecting the joint creative process, but also like a mine map depicting rock structures and crystalline mountain veins.
